Ask us about Geode Hill where you can pick up local geodes or the best time for wild flowers and fishing. There are many Native American sites nearby like Shoo Fly (local), Tuzigoot & Montezumas Castle (Cliff dwellings in Cottonwood) or the National Monument Cliff dwellings near Roosevelt lake. Other Things to Note

Reviews from visitors:

-Sophia from California “I was able to stay here with my mom and my sister for a few days in mid November. We flew in from California to Phoenix and made our way to Payson, AZ. The little town feel of Payson was just what I needed. The RV was a good size for the three of us ages 22-57. I slept in one of the bunk beds and it was so comfortable and the RV was sooo warm in the cool nights and mornings! The view was beautiful, the animals (Elk and Javelina) were visiting us in the backyard! We took a day trip to Sedona which was absolutely dreamy! The red rock formations were so incredibly beautiful. We also visited Tlaquepague which had the cutest little shops and beautiful area to explore. I would stay here again, 100%! Everything was so beautiful and the host was so helpful in helping us find places to eat and visit. “

-Susette from Texas “I loved how quaint the RV was with all the accommodations we needed. The beds were comfortable and we had the best sleep we’ve had in a long time.
It was delightful to sit outside and enjoy that fresh cup of brewed coffee as I was greeted with the sounds of the elk at dawn as they grazed across the open field.
The mountains lining the horizon was a beautiful backdrop as the sunrise illuminated the ground cover full of yellow flowers…a remarkable way to start the day. I also enjoyed sitting in the hot tub while star gazing through the clear night sky and even seeing the Milky Way!
It was truly a gift to stay in such beautiful surroundings…can’t wait to revisit.”

The Neighborhood

Our property is in Mesa Del Caballo, a non incorporated part of Payson, our neighbors are friendly and our home and property is quiet. It’s a great place to Star gaze and relax.

Getting Around

You will need a car for visiting Payson.

My husband and I live in Payson, Arizona. We are an hour up into the mountains from Phoenix, Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. You will leave the heat of the dessert behind as you climb 5,000 ft elevation, passing Saquaro Cactus and wild horses on your way to the base of the Mogollon Rim (pronounced: Mug-ee-on) The Mogollon Rim sits at 9,000 ft elevation and hosts beautiful lakes, pine trees and elk that wander freely. Our home (and the Camper RV) sits at the base of the Mogollon Rim with sweeping views. From here we watch the sun cast its setting glow illuminating the Rim in warm orange and reds that fade to purple before the sun fully sets. At night you can see the stars in their full glory as the Milky Way spreads its way across the velvet sky. Our twinkle lights turn on and you will have access to the fire pits, hot tub with jets (perfect for sky gazing in the warm water and jets to soothe your muscles after your day hikes) and gas BBQ. We love to help you plan your perfect trip, whether that means adventure seeking on the side by side, mountain biking, hiking or site seeing by car. We have bird watching, elk spotting, javelina appearances and our resident cats Sedona and Tux. Speaking of Sedona, we can help you plan a day trip to Sedona and longer excursions to the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe bend and so much more! Within a 5-15 minute drive you will find many hikes and points of interest like The Look Out point, Boulders hike, Water Wheel, Ellison Cascades, Shoo Fly Indian ruins, Natural bridge, Horton Creek Spring, Washington Park and our local swimming holes at the First, Second and Third Crossings. We can’t wait to meet you and show you all there is to explore in the high country of Arizona!
