Description
The Space
This is truly your "home away from home", after all, we lived on the first floor unit for many years before building the second floor, and Jan liked to cook up a storm so there is pretty much everything you need in the kitchen. Pillow top mattresses with cotton linens, bath and beach towels. Ceiling fans and AC in every room. Hi-Speed internet. 55" inch Smart TV with Netflix. Games/books. A private tiled backyard terrace has beautiful coconut palm trees providing shade from the hot tropical sun. Patio set, hammock, charcoal grill, washer/dryer.
Guest Access
Guest Access to our shared Rooftop terrace! Enjoy shade under the palapa area or sun on the north side with patio table and umbrella for 6 guests. Take the stairs up to the sunset deck for tanning, sunsets and star gazing. There is also an open kitchen area with sink, mini fridge, dishware and a gas grill. Bathroom and laundry machine too.
Guests have access to 2 - 21speed bicycles, beach chairs, coolers throughout their stay!
Interaction with Guests
We live on site most of the year and are available when needed and will respond to your needs in every way we can. When we are away, we will have a local brother/sister available for any issues that may arise.
Other Things to Note
We know a Spanish elder/pioneer who does airport shuttles for a very reasonable price. If interested, we can send you his Whatsapp information. He also speaks a little English.
The Neighborhood
We live in a middle class family friendly neighborhood on a residential one way street facing a wooded area offering a nice view. There is a convenience store and bus stop located at the end of our street and we are walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. It's a five to ten minute taxi ride or a fifteen to twenty minute bike ride to the beach, and only a five min drive to the Kingdom Hall with English and Spanish meetings.
Getting Around
Local buses (colectivos) are available at the end of our street that can take you around Puerto Morelos & to the beach for ten pesos. Taxis are plentiful and very affordable. There are buses that can take you to Cancun & Playa Del Carmen and even down to Tulum with a transfer in Playa Del Carmen. It's about a ten minute walk to the nearest supermarket, restaurants within walking distance and evening taco stands all over. We have a local Spanish brother that offers airport shuttles at a reasonable price too!

Joined in Feb 2022Hi, Jan's originally from Ottawa, Canada and Jordan is from Brazil with Canadian parents too. We have been married for over 30years and living here along the beautiful Riviera Maya for over 10 years. We love snorkeling and scuba diving the reef here. It is truly beautiful! We live in the upstairs unit; however, we do travel to the USA for work purposes periodically throughout the year. My husband is an elder in the local English congregation, and we both are regular pioneers with a Remote Bethel Volunteer assignment under the US Branch. We love meeting our brothers from around the world and look forward to hosting you!
