Description
The Space
Visit luxurious stoney cottage on an authentic African cattle farm in the bush en route to Namibia or Kgalagadi from Cape Town or Jhb where you can see horses, cows and sometimes kudus and other wildlife that like to visit. Soak up the African atmosphere with cattle thorn trees and African sunsets and marvle at the stars and beautiful wide open spaces where the district nearby is famously known as sterreland or 'starland' with star gazing of the Milky Way second to none.
Guest Access
The farmer and his wife will be there to welcome you and hand over the keys. The cottage has access to a large garden and walks and drives in the farm are available.
Interaction with Guests
The farmer lives on the adjacent farm house and will be able to answer any queries
Other Things to Note
Please do not pet any of the farm animals that are in their camps as they are not tame and experience of animals is learnt over time. Also please keep children under supervision at all times. Bring your wellington boots for walking in the veldt
The Neighborhood
Vryburg is a town well known for agriculture and cattle farming with the best steaks in South Africa. The area boasts much history and one can learn about the development of cattle farming and the suitable nutritious grasslands the cattle are accustomed to which makes them so healthy and happy in the African landscapes. The small English school still in use today has many links with the UK as well as the game reserve museum and golf course can be enjoyed 8-10 mins from the farmhouse. We can also recommend visiting Bloemhof dam an hours drive away for Fish Eagle viewing and big fishing as well as Kimberley 2.5 hours away for historical enrichment at the Big Hole and game viewing at Mokala Nature Reserve amongst other options.
Getting Around
You will need a car to get to the property and to drive around Vryburg. There is no public transport
