  If you’re planning a trip to Portugal, stay at Casa by the Castle in Óbidos. Steven and Amanda went above and beyond my expectations to create a cozy, comfortable, quiet, safe home away from home. Dreamy bed, pillows & linens. Well-equipped kitchen. Luxury toiletries. Centrally located it’s easy to explore Portugal’s history and beauty from restful home base. Their knowledgeable recommendations for restaurants & sights made staying there a month priceless! Don’t think twice. Stay here 100%. ????

  Cleanliness was a 10! Beautiful, quaint place to stay. The sunroom was lovely to relax in during the day. The bed was so comfortable. Cutest kitchen with all that you would need. We stayed two weeks and we didn’t want to go home. Steve and Amanda had the best recommendations for food, shopping and spa :) The congregation is welcoming and service was enjoyable as well. Great location with Lisbon within an hour and beautiful villages all nearby.

  Casa By the Castle is the place to stay! Steve and Amanda are excellent hosts and concierges. They ensure that their guests will have the best experience possible. The local meetings are excellent(that is how to sing Kingdom songs!) The friends are warm and welcoming, and Portugal Bethel is just over an hour away. Communication-Cleanliness and comfort-Tasteful decor-Safety-Centrally located-Privacy, are all 5 stars. More could be said, but you get the idea. (500 character limit on review, Why?)

  Stellar experience! Steve and Amanda’s place was the best one that we stayed in our entire month in Portugal! Just dreamy with every detail attended to. I would class it above my stays at Ritz-Carlton hotels. But more than just the stay, they went beyond the call of duty to make us welcome and comfortable in a new country. It was difficult to leave and we look forward eagerly to returning again soon!!! As far as the property description, though accurate in detail, it is beyond description!

  Everytime we interacted with Steve or Amanda it was pleasant. We traveled so many places that we'd recommend. Mafra, Ericiera, Peniche, Porto, Tomar, Almoural, Evora, Nazarre, Batalha, Liberia, Monsanto is stunning. Obidos was fun.There is just so much to see and do. The congregation is very welcoming and it was fun joining them. Spending the day touring with Cristina is a must do. What a lovely sister. If you're heading to Portugal and want to do more than the cities and Sintra, this is ideal.
